And more..
Many health issues can be treated or strongly impacted by acupuncture and combined therapies. If you have any questions about something specific please get in touch.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the process of inserting very small, fine needles in to specific points on the body. Points are located along a system of channels that run along the body. Acupuncture should never be painful, and most patients find it deeply relaxing.

Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is the practice of using plants, fungi, lichens, ferns, and mosses for therapeutic benefits. It is our oldest system of medicine and has been used around the world by many cultures for thousands of years. Globally, herbal medicine is still many people's primary medicine.

Tui Na (Massage)
Tui na is a type of traditional massage that is often used with acupuncture and other Chinese medicine based therapies. It is a strong, deep tissue technique that helps to open the channels.

Moxibustion
Moxibustion (or moxa) is a focused heat therapy. Mugwort (Artemisia spp) is burnt like incense and used to warm up and stimulate acupuncture points or regions of the body. This therapy is gently warming and stimulating and is excellent for a variety of health problems.

Cupping
Cupping therapy is a tissue decompression technique that stimulates blood and qi flow within the superficial muscle layers of the body and helps to free up fascial adhesions. It is often used in the treatment of tension, muscle soreness, certain menstrual disorders, common cold, and some gastrointestinal disorders. A vacuum is created in small glass cups by using heat. The cups are then quickly placed over acupuncture points or specific areas of the body. Once the cups are removed, there is often a red or purple mark on the skin. This will dissipate in a couple of days.

Diet Therapy
Diet therapy includes using foods to assist in healing. In Chinese medicine, foods have energetics just like herbs and people do, and it is clinically useful in many situations to alter someone's eating habits in order to correct imbalances in the body. Often times certain foods should be eaten more often and certain foods eaten less often until the body is able to heal and correct any imbalances.
